The Aurora Borealis (or the Northern Lights in simpler terms) are credited to be a truly spectacular and a once in a lifetime experience to witness. September to April is supposed the ideal time to catch the them and what more, frequent activity and intense light displays are set to be common this year more than ever. After 2019, sightings are predicted to be be fewer and further between, so what better an inspiration to get yourself booked up to go in 2018.

The Northern Lights can be seen in various locations worldwide, with the most common being Iceland, the U.S, Scotland and Greenland.

Go turtle spotting

2

Turtle spotting is an underrated yet wonderful experience. Overshadowed by its more common sistering activities such as whale and dolphin spotting, turtle spotting is often overlooked as an excursion activity and therefore does not find its place on to many bucket lists.
However, turtle spotting can be not only a unforgettable and magical experience, but it can also be one that is enjoyed by the whole family. It is not uncommon to see many turtles during these trips and they are often enjoyed by all of those who participate. Typical excursions include a boat trip with the spotting, of which the final destination is usually a turtle populated beach.

Marmaris is an excellent place to begin turtle spotting, and with it being such a low cost yet high appeal resort – there’s nothing stopping you from adding this to your 2018 bucket list today.

Hike a volcano

3

It may not be everyone’s first thought when putting together a bucket list – but who wants to be beige and generic? Jetting off on holiday and adding ‘hiking a volcano’ to your to do list brings many benefits and is definitely something for the bucket list.

So why hike a volcano? Not only is it a great way of keeping fit and slashing the extra holiday pounds, but it is also something you’re not likely to do very often and can be incredibly interesting. Not only do you get to experience the remarkable feeling of walking along a volcano, but you can almost certainly expect to be met with some breathtaking views from being so high up.

There’s tons of dormant volcanoes that can be hiked up and explored worldwide, but some of our recommendations are Mount Vesuvius, Rome or Pico do Foco, Cape Verde.

Go on a safari

4

It’s a common one for bucket lists – Safari’s are a one in a lifetime experience to get up close and personal with some of the most beautiful creatures that mother nature has to offer us.

On your typical Safari you can expect to come face to face with a whole range of animals such as Zebras, Lions and Leopards. You can also enjoy the kick-back, rugged experience of exploring in a jeep and can absorb the sights of the safari planes.

There are a few places in which you can get on board a safari experience across the world, but we’d recommend some of South Africa’s finest parks including the Addo Elephant National Park, Chobe National Park or Etosha National Park if you’re wanting to be at one with some of nature’s finest offerings.

Visit a flamingo park

5

Continuing with the wildlife-inspo, why not add visiting a flamingo park to your 2018 bucket list? Or, why not go that extra mile and visit a park that has it all?

If roughing it out on a safari isn’t really your thing, then whos to say you can’t explore the world’s wildlife in a different way? A wildlife park or zoo allows you to marvel at some truly spectacular animals, without the added getting down and dirty of a safari. If this is more your style of adventure then there is no reason to not add it to your bucket list today!

The Oasis park in Fuerteventura not only lets you get up close and personal with one of nature’s most exquisite animals: the flamingo, it also offers hands-on encounters with animals, plus shows with sea lions & birds.

Party in the party capital

6

If adventure isn’t really your thing – or even if it is and you’re just wanting to mix it up a little then why not add partying in the party destination of the world to your 2018 bucket list.

Of course, we’re talking about Ibiza. The resort famed for its worldwide acknowledged nightlife and its tempting warm climates. ‘Opening season’ this year is May and provides you with the best time to jet off and tick this off your bucket list this year. You can expect to be met with a whole hog of party-all-night venues and some star studded DJ sets.

Book up a trip to Ibiza today and party your troubles away.

Visit the big apple

7

Perhaps one that should have a place on everyone’s bucket list is to visit no other than NYC itself, which, with its array of things to do could fill its own bucket list.

With times square, the rockefeller, central park, the 9/11 tribute centre, fifth avenue, the empire state and the statue of liberty being a mere few of the things to do in New York – you’ll never be bored that’s for certain. What more, you can keep coming back and ticking more and more things of your list.
